November 17, 2009‘Supernatural’ Sets 2010 Return Date
November 15, 2009As you all sadly know, this Thursday’s “Abandon All Hope” will be the last new episode of 2009. We now know exactly how long this Hellatus will last, with season 5 continuing Thursday, January 14. In other words, eight whole weeks of no new Supernatural.
So get ready to hibernate, and as soon as you get that new 2010 calendar, mark the date.
Is ‘Supernatural’ Jumping the Shark?
November 13, 2009“It’s not Jumping the Shark if you never come back down.” – Chuck
Is that statement accurate, or is it just a comedic attempt to undercut anyone who argues that Supernatural has finally, officially, without a doubt Jumped the Shark with the fan convention.
As a stand alone episode, I was amused by “The Real Ghostbusters,” but as an episode of Supernatural season 5, I was sorely disappointed. The comedy is too big, the self-referential jokes are too many and I’m not exactly sure what the show is becoming. Is the show really just entertainment, as the LARPers suggested, or are we supposed to genuinely care for Sam and Dean, as delusional as that may sound.
Voice your opinion here. And for my full thoughts, check out this recent op-ed I wrote in which I take a pretty strict stance against all this Becky fan stuff.

“The Real Ghostbusters” Discussion
November 13, 2009As always, this is the place to discuss everything and anything “Real Ghostbusters” related. (In a respectful, PG worded way of course.)
Also since I know you all are eagle eyed viewers, please keep your eyes peeled for any old episode shout outs or sneaky Supernatural references. If you see any, post them here in the comments. I’m trying to keep a comprehensive list of them from tonight’s episode!!

Spoiler Alert!
I’m torn on this episode. I loved a lot of the humor, particularly from Fritz, the German Hook Man. And Fat Dean was hilarious.
But overall, this episode was just another fun diversion, and sadly, it felt like another waste of time filler. I’m starting to agree with the upset fans who want the show to get back to the Apocalypse. Luckily next week looks to do that, but of course, next week is the last new episode until January 2010. So it had better be really, really, REALLY good.
One final thought: I personally loved/hated the final line from Chuck’s deleted scenes.
“It’s really not Jumping the Shark if you never come back down.”
Sadly, I don’t think that’s entirely a joke. Ever since Chuck showed up and they opened this book series can of worms, the show has felt like one long jump, and as long as it’s in mid-air, it’s impossible to tell if it jumped the shark or if it magically turned back and didn’t.

November 10, 2009Woohooo! We can totally win this guys.
Supernatural has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award in the Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show.
The show is up against some stiff competition: “Heroes,” “Lost,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “True Blood.” But none of those shows have fans like us.
Apparently you have to text in your vote for the category, info HERE and in the comments below.
Supernatural Spoiler from Kristin
November 10, 2009Kristin over at E! Online just offered another spoiler nugget for Supernatural fans.
Spoiler Alert!
Randall in New York: Last week’s Supernatural was unbelievable! So hilarious and so well done. Got any scoop on what’s next?
According to my mole: There is an episode coming next year in which Anna returns and wants to kill Sam, so he doesn’t say yes to Lucifer. She travels back in time to kill Mary and John Winchester, so Dean and Sam go back in time to try and stop her. So does that mean we’ll see Jeffrey Dean Morgan again? Sadly, no, as it will be “young John” and “young Mary.” For the record, CW, I like my John W. old and scruffy and JDM-y!
